Day 1 - OSLO
• Meet at airport and coach transfer to Oslo
• Afternoon tour in Oslo stopping at the Viking Ship Museum and the Vigeland Sculpture Park
• Enjoy the view from Holmenkollen and see the ski arena and famous ski jump
• Overnight in Oslo
Day 2 - OSLO-BERGEN
• Early breakfast at hotel
• Transfer to train station
• Train ride from Oslo to Myrdal and then down to Flam
• The "Flam Train" is a 50 minute train ride on tracks which are considered a "masterpiece of engineering"
• Lunch en route
• Continue by boat into the lovely Sognefjord and onwards to Gudvangen
• Coach departs from the Gudvangen pier and takes you to Voss
• Train from Voss to Bergen, and bus transfer to hotel. (Luggage will be transported from Oslo to Bergen)
• Overnight in Bergen
Day 3 - BERGEN
• Breakfast at hotel
• This day is spent in Bergen, sightseeing and shopping
• Visit the fish market, the Hanseatic Museum, the Troldhaugen (home of composer Edvard Grieg) and the Fantoft Church
• The afternoon will be free for shopping and individual lunches
• Overnight in Bergen
Day 4 - BERGEN-LOFOTEN/ SVOLVAER
• Breakfast at hotel
• Transfer to airport in Bergen and fly to the city of Bodo
• Bus transfer from the Bodo airport to the pier, where you will catch the Coastal Steamer. The Steamer crosses the Vestfjorden into Lofoten and Svolvaer
• Overnight in Svolvaer
Day 5 - SVOLVAER
• Breakfast at hotel
• Coach departure for a lovely day in the Lofoten area
• Visit the Henningsvaer fishing village, the Lofoten Museum and Kabelvag, and the Borg Viking lands
• Lunch en route
ALTERNATIVE DAY IN LOFOTEN
• Spend the day in a fishing boat with a local guide. An on-ship lunch and fishing equipment are provided. A visit to Trollfjorden may also be possible.
• Overnight in Svolvaer
Day 6 - LOFOTEN/ ANDENES
• Breakfast at hotel
• Departure for Sortland and then further onwards to Andoya Island
• Lunch en route
• Arrival at the village of Andenes, which is located on the very northern edge of Andoya
• Overnight in Andenes
Day 7 - ANDENES
• Breakfast at hotel
• Start the day with a guided visit to the Whale Museum which is close to the hotel
• Depart for the Whale Safari on a large, comfortable vessel with an experienced crew. The tour will last from 5-6 hours. Be sure to bring a camera, since the hit rate for sightings is 97 percent
• Light lunch served on ship
• Back to Andenes for a free afternoon to relax
• Overnight in Andenes
Day 8 - ANDENES-TROMSO
• Breakfast at hotel
• Start the day with a 2 hour cruise over Andefjord to Gryllefjord on the mainland
• Continue on to the island of Senja, passing Finnsnes on the way to the Arctic city of Tromso
• Lunch en route
• Afternoon free for shopping and a short city tour of Tromso
• Overnight in Tromso
Day 9 - TROMSO-HAMMERFEST
• Breakfast at hotel
• Coach departure for Hammerfest, leaving the Tromso area and gradually entering the Finnmark and North Cape regions
• Lunch en route
• Continuing north, you will pass the "Lyngen Alps," Nordkjosen and Storslett
• There will be a brief stop to look at the lovely views at Kvaenangen
• Visit the museum outside of Alta. This museum has rock carvings from the Stone Age period 3,000 - 5,000 years ago. (The museum is on the UNESCO list)
• Continue over Sennalandet to Hammerfest
• Visit the Polar Museum in Hammerfest
• Overnight in Hammerfest
ALTERNATIVE DAY 9
• Coastal Steamer from Tromso to Honningsvag
• Overnight on the Coastal Steamer
Day 10 - HAMMERFEST-NORTH CAPE/ HONNINGSVAG
• Breakfast at hotel
• Early departure on the Coastal Steamer to the North Cape region (A coach will be waiting on the pier in Hammerfest to take you to the ship)
• Lunch en route
• Bus excursion to the North Cape Plateau
• Overnight in Honningsvag
Day 11 - HONNINGSVAG-KARASJOK
• Breakfast at hotel
• Bus departure heading east, toward the mainland and to the Norwegian Laplands. After passing Lakselv, you leave the coastline behind and the "everlasting" moutnain plateau stretches all the way into the Russian tundra
• Visit the Lapish center in Karasjok
• Lunch en route
• Visit the Same Center in Karasjok, which contains a museum and large-art and handicraft centers
• Overnight in Karasjok
Day 11 - KARASJOK-FINLAND or ALTA
• Breakfast
• Bus to Alta or further east to Finland
