Salmon fishing in the Namsen Area

The river Namsen is one of the three largest rivers in Norway. Successful fishing is done from both boat and shore.

The Bjora river is smaller but known for its large species. It is easy to fish from the shores with spoon and fly, but boats are also popular.

The Eida and Soroa are small rivers with heavy streams which are excellent for fishing salmon and seatrout from the shore.

These four rivers run through an area called Skogmo/ Overhalla and are all within a 40 kilometer range of one another.

SKOGMO COUNTRY HOTEL AND SALMON RESORT is located close to the four rivers and has been the natural center for salmon and trout fishing for the last 80 - 90 years. At Skogmo you will find a wonderful atmosphere, traditional home-made foods, pleasant rooms and friendly hosts in the Sprauten family, who own and run the hotel. Skogmo offers professional fly fishing lessons with some of the best instructors in Norway. We recommend you bring your best fishing stories and be prepared to hear some incredible ones around the campfire after dinner.

Day 1 - NAMSOS-SKOGMO
• A representative from the Skogmo Hotel will meet you at the airport in Namsos and transport you to Skogmo (approximately 40 kilometers)
• At the hotel you will meet your rowers and guides and you will participate in an orientation about the days to come
• Dinner and overnight at the Skogmo Hotel

Day 2 - SKOGMO
• Two guests will share one boat and rower, spending half a day in boat harling and half a day fly or spoon fishing from land
• Breakfast, boxed lunch and dinner will be provided
• Overnight in the Skogmo Hotel

Day 3 - SKOGMO
• Two guests will share one boat and rower, spending half a day in boat harling and half a day fly or spoon fishing from land
• Breakfast, boxed lunch and dinner will be provided
• Overnight in the Skogmo Hotel

Day 4 - SKOGMO
• Local transportation to the Eida and Soroa rivers
• Spend the day fly fishing from land with a local guide
• Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided
• Overnight in Skogmo Hotel

Day 5 - SKOGMO
• Fishing on the Bjora river from boat and from land
• Guides and rowers will accompany you on the trip
• Breakfast, lunch and farewell dinner will be provided
• Overnight in Skogmo Hotel

Day 6 - SKOGMO-HOME
• Breakfast at hotel, then pack and prepare the catch
• Transportation to airport
